The Origin Story
Burd (TM) Beauty was founded in 2025 by teen sisters Leah (17) and Misha Burdeen (15) together with their mom, Julie Smolyansky, CEO of Lifeway Foods and longtime activist for survivors of violence. After witnessing peers navigate unhealthy relationships and recognizing how mainstream culture minimizes domestic violence, Leah and Misha decided to combine their obsession - beauty products, into a brand that funds action.
Inspired by the Salon Stories Act, new stylist-training laws, they launched Burd (TM) and invite everyone to join the movement - because beauty can save lives.
